LSN Alliance League

Hi everyone! I came across LSN about a month ago and it only took me a couple days of trying it out for free to subscribe. So obviously, I haven't played a ton of games yet. I have had some early success but then again I'm competing against other rookies.
Anyway, I subscribed for 6 months as I this game really has me hooked. I do plan on playing for awhile.
I'm kind of hesitate on getting involved with the Alliance league it seems a season can last quite a long time (to me anyway). However, the number of games a player participates in (2, right?) seems decent.
If any team needs a full time player I would really like the chance. I would greatly prefer to be a "starter" if possible. I don't care about past win/loss records and such, just want to have fun with an active team. I do have a couple questions:

The new maps that end up being voted in for season 16.......will we actually get to play on them this season? I hope so as this helps newer players who might not have the experience some of you have on the older maps.

Are some teams going to be disbanded or what for season 16? I read in the forum that it seems some of the teams this past season had problems fielding consistent players and some didn't have full rosters most of the season.
I can tell reading through the forums that some of these teams have been involved with the League for a long time and that there is stiff opposition to players wanting to start a new team. Instead, it seems that players wanting to be a part of an Alliance season must choose from a pre-existing team.
Now I understand this to a point, and I respect that specific teams have a long history with the League, but I don't want to join a team that has problems with the team Captain not paying attention to who is active or inactive on his team, and being overall inattentive.
If I get the chance to play on a team then I plan on playing all my games on time, not ever timing out, and doing the best I can. If I'm giving my all (and having fun doing it) then I would like a team that is the same. And I don't think it would be fun playing against another team where half the players don't end up showing up or most of them time out. Why would a team like that even be allowed into the next season? And 1 or 2 fellas don't make a team.
Just hoping we have plenty of active full teams for a season 16, and that I'm part of it! Sorry for going on so long! Razz

Ozy, as admins, General Strike and I have decided that new teams will not be allowed.

There are a couple of reasons for this: in the past we have had a couple of keen new players who get together and want to start a team, not having any idea of the rules, setup of Alliance, what needs doing to be a team captain etc. Then the whole team just gradually peters out. Also, if there are current, longstanding teams who need a player or 2 in order to continue in the compo then it is folly to have a whole brand new team appear and, for example, 2 other teams disbanded when that 'new team' could have bolstered their ranks.

LSN is, let's face facts, a diminishing game. Sad

Every season we have more players disappear from Alliance than start, more time outs/voids going in the results.

As team captain it is tricky sometimes keeping on top of things when your team players don't report in, so you have no idea whether they are happily playing a game or have not received a challenge etc etc.

As an admin it is frustrating having to chase so many results at the end of the season because they have not been reported.

Having said that, I know I have not been around as much as I should have been as an admin this last season!

As to teams - well I haven't heard anything from a couple of the Clowns players as to whether they will be back next season. I cannot hang on indefinitely for them to get back to me as without them I don't have a full roster, so if you are interested I could definitely offer you a place in the Cursed Clowns Wink

Yea I can imagine it does get frustrating keeping track of all the different players and games during an alliance season. When do you expect season 16 to start?

IT should be 1st April, but the season setup can only be done by General Strike, and he is busy towards the end of this month, so it may be a little bit late.......

..... assuming we have some teams to fight, that is!

RL is calming down a little after 18 months of Hell and I am looking to sign up to any team which wants a moderately competent player (I can offer no more, sadly, not even after 4 years [at least] of play!)... Cheers!

Right well Ozy, Dancing Destroyer seems to have disappeared currently, so you should be getting a challenge from the delightful TOMU very shortly!! Henjed, the more the merrier, Clowns seem to be deserting me all over the shop at the moment lol (I told them not to celebrate for too long Sad

I'm feeling guilty now for stealing Henjed - the Clowns actually have a full compliment currently (although we didn't when I offered Henjed a place! Laughing

) So I'm wondering whether it would be fairer to allow him to join another team?

Henjed, are you still about? (I haven't heard from you in the Clowns so not even sure if you are!) What are your feelings?

Doomed is down to two ATM, TOMU and I. Oddball doesn't count, he's just a troublemaker now. Razz

Colonel Mustard hopefully will be back next season but Valar Morghulis seems to dropped off the map. We're going to take it on the chin this season.

Never in a million years would I have thought Doomed would actually be doomed as a team.

I really must make someone else captain before the end so as to dodge the blame... or so my Leadership 101 Primer tells me.

And don't think I didn't notice what you said up there SB!
